Paul made his comeback in the 2000 season after a three year break and managed to turn in a string of high performances.

He had a win in the Ely and District Open 25 mile championships and had 12 top three and 10 top five results. He was also the driving force in several 2 up team time trials bringing good results for the team - finishing no lower than third all season.
