MATLOCK CYCLING CLUB 25 MILE TIME TRIAL
1. Ashley Long, Lutterworth Cycle Centre - 55 mins 19 seconds
2. Richard Cordin, Matlock Cycling Club - 56 mins 35 seconds
3. G.Cook, Chesterfield Coureurs - 56 mins 55 seconds
On the 1st July 2001 Long made short work of
The Roy Harrison Memorial 25 coming home in 55 minutes 19 seconds. Ashley
not only came home first but won the handsome prize on offer for beating the
record for the sporting course on the A.6 between Matlock and Bakewell . He
beat Paul Jezewski's record which has stood since 1996 by 50 seconds.
Ashley produced a great result for the team beating Matlocks own Richard Cordin by 1 min 16 secs and last years winner Richard Hunt was relegated to fourth place. Local rider Ben Eady of Team Bradgate came home in 58 mins 39 seconds which earnt him 6th place,
